I love styling.
Not because it’s about fashion, or shopping, or even about organisation.
Rather, I love styling because, through the prism of all of the above, I get to help people.
One of those people is Nelly
I don’t remember exactly when I met Nelly, but I have known her for some time. And every time I have met her since, I have been greeted with a warmth and exuberance that seems like a far-gone thing in this day and age. So, when She approached me and asked about a full wardrobe makeover and shopping session, how could I possibly say no?
Sitting down with her for our consultation, I got to learn more about Nelly. She is a single mum, working in a creative industry, and everything in between. And as you can see by the photos I got after our session, that she really is a super woman.
After our session, I asked Nelly If she would like to do a photoshoot, and answer some questions.

Hey Nelly, what did you think of the Styling session?
I absolutely loved it. In the few weeks since the session, I have already got so many compliments from people, both at work and from my friends.
“I feel a lot more confident in myself. I get up and know that my wardrobe is not going to let me down today.”
Oh really? What did they say?
They just loved what I was wearing. But it wasn’t just the pieces though. They said that I looked completely different.
How do you feel about yourself after our session?
I feel a lot more confident in myself. I get up and know that my wardrobe is not going to let me down today.
Was there anything about our session that you didn’t really expect?
How much of my current wardrobe we got to use. I was worried that we would throw out my entire wardrobe! But [Nathan] helped me find so many outfits that I didn’t even know that I had!
What did you most enjoy?
I loved having an honest outside opinion. So often I find that I look at an outfit and just don’t know. But to have someone there to say ‘I love this, and here is why’ really gave me the confidence to find my own style
If there were something you would have liked more of, what would it be?
I would have liked more time shopping!
Would you recommend getting a stylist?
Absolutely! I would not have been able to achieve this without [Nathan’s] help!
